When I first started scouring the Missing and Unidentified sites I thought it was completely strange that there are so many people who lose their lives being ran over on,or while crossing our country's interstates and Highways. It just seemed like it is an odd way to go for so many people,let alone a huge majority are unidentified. I have even written about this fact. But, then it hit me like a ton of bricks why this is not unusual at all. I could not believe I thought is was odd in the first place. I felt stupid. A huge majority of our transient populations are victims of Police bullying and just regular everyday rednecks who cannot get away with picking on normal people so they target people who they think are sub-human. The people who do this to others are despicable human beings. But, to help themselves not to be targeted to easily they sleep near and under Highway overpasses. They can see or at least the cops coming before they get to them in a lot of cases and the lowlives are usually too lazy to try and navigate these very dangerous roads to just amuse themselves.
And most people who are transients have mental illnesses and because they are poverty stricken, they surely cannot stay on their regular medications and they self-medicate. Unfortunately,this only leads to full blown alcoholism and drug addictions that compound their problems. This is why you have probably heard the saying that Drug and Alcohol Addiction are just symptoms of an underlying problem/s. So, we then have drunken transients trying to cross 10 lanes of traffic trying to make it to their huddles to be safe.And they like to travel the city at night, because they can try to sort of not be seen by law enforcement and this too, only adds to the danger of crossing the roadways And, since transients travel using our highways, walking to their next destination they are also hit by cars that run off of the roads or they stumble into the highways and are killed or seriously injured.
But, NOT all transients are intoxicated who are run over. I want to make this clear. Another group of people why are more than likely, than not to not be identified after being killed or dying in some natural way, are illegal immigrants. I find this so sad!!!! A lot who come across the border are split up from traveling partners or the persons they are traveling with only know minimal information about their new found friends. So, being that they are also illegal and their friends or even family members die in any manor they are not going to stick around to be deported,just to give their name. This may sound cruel,but is it? No, their reality usually is that their whole extended family have saved money for years so 1 or 2 family member can sneak into America and get jobs to support their whole family at home. And sometimes it is a life and death situation back in their country when they have a sick child who cannot live without the money that they send back to them to buy the medication. I am not debating the issue of it being right or wrong. I am just telling you their reality a lot of times. So, you may be able to understand them better. So, many Americans think that these people come here as an afterthought. No!!! It is almost always out of sheer desperation to make just enough money for their families to eat and have a home and have basic health care.
I hope this may explain the situation and see my motivations in keeping this blog running. I only add cases as I come across them. I usually do not look for them. I do not have the time. So, I figured it is very easy to add links so others may hopefully find a missing loved one.
